FACEBOOK BECOMES OWNER OF MENLO PARK PROPERTY
Facebook has acquired its 57-acre main campus in Menlo Park in a $202 mn deal, according to public records. The social-networking firm exercised its option to buy the former Sun Microsystems campus. Facebook had leased the property for a tenure of 15 years back in 2011. The contract included an option to buy-out the property after 5 years and Facebook exercised the option. The 1 mn sq ft of office space has undergone extensive renovation. Facebook declined to comment on the story.

DONALD TRUMP RETAINS BIG LEAD IN NEW HAMPSHIRE
A new poll says billionaire businessman and Republican candidate for the GOP, Donald Trump continues to maintain a large lead in New Hampshire. The latest Monmouth University Poll gives Trump 32% in New Hampshire, with a tight battle for second among Ted Cruz (14%), John Kasich (14%), and Marco Rubio (12%). The poll noted that only one in three voters 'have completely locked in their vote choice.'

GOLDEN GLOBES 2016: THE REVENANT WINS TOP AWARDS
In some Entertainment news... The Revenant emerged as the big winner at this year's Golden Globes, after it won in the most coveted category of Best Dramatic Film. Leading man Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Actor in a Drama, while Alejandro G Inarritu won a Globe for the movie's Direction. Ridley Scott's The Martian was named Best Comedy or Musical Film. Brie Larson was named Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Room, while Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress - Comedy.

MUSIC LEGEND DAVID BOWIE DIES
And finally...Singer David Bowie, one of the most influential musicians of his era, has died of cancer at the age of 69. Bowie had a peaceful death following a 18-month-long battle with Cancer. Bowie has been credited with turning pop into a new direction in 1972 with the introduction of his alter ego Ziggy Stardust. Bowie's last live performance was at a New York charity concert in 2006. The late singer had released his latest album Blackstar last Friday, which also happened to be his birthday.
