Every team entered the NFL offseason with a list of areas in which they wanted to improve their rosters. After the free-agent signing period has slowed to a trickle, the roster-building maneuvers can now be labeled officially as “draft needs.”
The one position where the 49ers might not have a starter in place is left guard. But it might be too early for them to fill that spot at No. 27 overall. General manager John Lynch could look to trade out of the first round, but that is easier said than done. He would have to find a team determined to move up in order to swing a deal.
