5.8 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE, SEVERAL AFTERSHOCKS RUMBLE OFF WEST COAST

Several moderate earthquakes, including a 5.8 magnitude temblor, have rumbled below the Pacific Ocean off the West Coast late Monday and early Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 5.8 quake shook at 9:08 p.m. Monday and was centered more than 100 miles off the Oregon coast, the USGS said. No tsunami warning was issued. It was followed by several more moderate quakes in the same vicinity, including a 4.9 magnitude at 10:59 p.m. Monday, a 4.9 at 12:02 a.m. Tuesday and a 5.1 at 12:31 p.m. Tuesday, USGS data showed.
