CHRIS SIMMS HEARING SPECULATION ABOUT 49ERS BEING JONATHAN TAYLOR TRADE SUITOR

The 49ers made a splash last week, bringing back former first-round draft pick DeForest Buckner in a trade with the Indianapolis Colts. The trade deadline is just a few days away, and so far, that is the only move the team has made.
But some in NFL circles who have spoken to Pro Football Talks' Chris Simms wonder if San Francisco might not be done making trades, specifically with the Colts. "Chris Simms mentioned on Thursday’s PFT Live that some in league circles are wondering whether the 49ers could make a play for Colts running back Jonathan Taylor," PFT's Mike Florio wrote in a recent article. "(People around the league ask Simms those questions, because 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is one of his best friends — and because they assume Simms knows what’s happening with the 49ers, even if he rarely if ever does.)
