“Our studio whiteboard reads like a playlist for a Manipur many hope to see,” says RJ Grace, pointing to a listicle: Gospel at 8am,Manipuri beats at 9am, a special show at 10am, Kuki songs at noon, English music at 1pm, followed by ‘Motivation Ka Tadka’, ‘Retro Rewind’ and, as the day winds down, ‘Harmony Express’.

In Manipur, where news of death and displacement come every other day, a spectacular effort at reconciliation is on at Radio Highway. And relaying messages of hope to a society divided by a debilitating ethnic conflict are three presenters -- a Kuki, Meitei and Naga.
