The deadline for an emergency loan to keep Bay Area public transit running has been extended. Initially, Friday was the deadline for the governor to sign off on a $750 million loan already approved by state lawmakers, but now talks can continue until January.
"We are working with all stakeholders on the parameters of a funding deal," the office of Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement. "Our shared goal is to agree on the terms of a deal by this fall."
