GIANTS PROMOTE RIVER CATS OUTFIELDER TO MLB AMID FRANCHISE-RECORD HITTING STREAK

Welcome to The Show, Turner Hill. The Giants have called up the 27-year-old outfielder to join their MLB roster, according to the team's transaction wire, and the timing couldn't be better. Hill broke the Triple-A Sacramento franchise record Tuesday when he hit safely in 25 games, surpassing Daric Barton's 24-game streak with the River Cats from 2007.

Hill kept his streak alive at 26 games on Wednesday with a third-inning single. Hill joins a struggling Giants team that traded Heliot Ramos and is faced with the prolonged -- and somewhat controversial -- absence of Harrison Bader, providing ample opportunity for the hot-hitting outfielder. It also serves as Hill's potential audition for the 2027 MLB season, in an outfield where Jung Hoo Lee and Drew Gilbert are the only solidified contributors. Signed as an undrafted free agent by the Giants in 2023, Hill was the PCL Player of the Month in July and currently is slashing .353/.420/.529 with nine home runs and 60 RBI in 88 games with the River Cats.
