J&K'S BARAMULLA SEES ALL-TIME HIGHEST VOTER TURNOUT

Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a remarkable voter turnout of 59% in phase 5 of elections that concluded on Monday, marking its highest polling percentage ever "I want to congratulate the people that despite all the difficulties they came to vote in such huge numbers.

This is a hilly area and some are snowbound areas and despite all this, they came to cast their votes and created history ... No where was the polling slow," said J&K Chief Election Officer P K Pole. The previous highest turnout registered in the constituency was in 1984 when 58.84% of voters exercised their franchise.
