The Giants just wanted to talk about baseball on Tuesday. In that department, at least, it was a positive day.
Robbie Ray had a second straight dominant outing, and the lineup gave him an early lead that turned into a 3-1 win over the Athletics. The Giants snapped a three-game losing streak in front of a sellout crowd, and found some reasons to celebrate on a day when their highest-paid player had to answer for perceived insubordination and a small protest happened outside the ballpark because of the ongoing fallout from Pride Night. The Giants scored a pair in the second on a solo homer from Jung Hoo Lee and an RBI from Matt Chapman. That was all Ray needed, and he carried that lead through eight.
