Four days before he will make his first opening day start, Phillies pitcher Cristopher Sanchez was rewarded with a new long-term contract Sunday morning. The contract will take Sanchez through the 2032 season and includes a club option for 2033.
The deal essentially builds on Sanchez’ existing contract, which he signed in June 2024 and ran through 2028. That deal included club options for 2029 and 2030 at $14 and $15 million, respectively. Those two options are now guaranteed. The new deal includes guarantees of $30 million for both the 2031 and 2032 seasons and a club option for $44.5 million for 2033.
