Flyers can expect possible delays at San Francisco International Airport because of new construction. As of Monday, one runway will be closed for the next six months for repaving, taxiway improvements, lighting upgrades, and new striping and markings.
The airport expects fewer than 10% of flights to be delayed. Most delays are expected to be less than half an hour, mainly during peak hours. The total construction cost is $180 million, about half of which is funded by the Federal Aviation Administration.
