RAIZEN AND CHINA'S BYD WILL BUILD EV CHARGING STATION NETWORK IN BRAZIL
Sugar and ethanol company Raízen and Chinese automaker BYD are collaborating to establish a network of 600 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across eight Brazilian cities. This partnership is driven by the anticipated demand for charging infrastructure in a rapidly expanding market.
Under the Shell Recharge brand, the charging points will be installed in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and six other state capitals over the next three years. Raízen is jointly controlled by Shell and the conglomerate Cosan. This initiative reflects a strategic move to support the growing adoption of EVs in Brazil and contribute to the development of sustainable mobility solutions.
