San Francisco Mayor London Breed is embarking on a trip to China this weekend to enhance economic connections and cultural bonds with the country. During her visit, Mayor Breed plans to engage with businesses, airlines, and local leaders in various cities, including Beijing and Shanghai. The purpose of these meetings is to foster economic opportunities and reinforce relationships between San Francisco and cities across China.
In a statement, Mayor Breed expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to strengthen ties with China and underscored the importance of the Chinese and Chinese American communities in San Francisco. She highlighted their significant contributions to the city's history and economic prosperity. The upcoming trip follows the success of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference held in San Francisco last November. Mayor Breed aims to build upon this momentum to further solidify San Francisco's international partnerships and capitalize on valuable economic and business prospects.
Mayor Breed is scheduled to depart for China on Saturday and return to San Francisco on Sunday, April 21st.
