SAN FRANCISCO SENDS AID TO MASSIVE CENTRAL CALIFORNIA WILDFIRE

A massive wildfire continued to burn in Central California, forcing evacuations and threatening hundreds of homes as it ripped through the Los Padres National Forest.

The Gifford Fire in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties had spread to nearly 100,000 acres, or 154 square miles, by Friday morning and was 15% contained, according to Cal Fire.
