SENSEX SLIDES FOR 5TH DAY IN ROW, BELOW 64000 AFTER 4 MONTHS
Across-the-board selling on Wednesday pulled the sensex below the 64K mark for the first time in about four months as global factors weighed on investor sentiment. The index closed 523 points down at 64,049, with 24 of 30 sensex constituents in the red. It was the fifth consecutive session of falls for the index. The day's selling was led by foreign funds that recorded a net outflow of Rs 4,237 crore, BSE data showed. On the other hand, domestic funds were net buyers at Rs 3,569 crore. On the NSE, Nifty closed 160 points down at 19,122 points.
