There’s no greater honor for an athlete than having their number retired by a team. Actually, there is … having their number retired by more than one team. That’s an honor that has been bestowed upon only 16 players in NBA history. Shaquille O'Neal is already on that list, but in February he will become just the second player in NBA history to have his number retired by three former teams.
