JAPAN'S GPIF HOLDS ABOUT $931 BILLION IN FOREIGN ASSETS

Japan is steering its ​Government Pension Investment Fund, the world's biggest pension fund, to boost investment in domestic assets, Finance ​Minister Satsuki Katayama said ​on Friday.

The fund held almost ⁠294 trillion yen ($1.8 trillion) ​in assets at the end ​of March, according to its most recent annual report. That total ​accounts for $931 billion in ​foreign assets including $232.1 billion in U.S. Treasuries, ‌according ⁠to calculations by Reuters.
